Ah, the long weekend… not only does this launch me into full summer mode, where my dreams of beaches and warm weather seem almost in reach, but it also launches this Prince Edward County wedding photographer’s season.
When you live and work in a tourist destination, you revel enjoy the quiet months but revel in the moment where things get busy again. It almost feels like they open up the bridge to this little island and the traffic once again flows through the small streets.
With the summer on our heels and couples perusing this gorgeous area for their wedding destination I wanted to once again add to my ongoing blog series for tips on planning a wedding in Prince Edward County. For those looking for more info, I’ve added the links to other ones at the bottom of this post.
For those of you who might be reading one of these for the first time, they are based on words directly from my couples. So without further ado, here are some tips from Adrian and Laura who were married at Fields on West Lake.
Why did you choose Prince Edward County for your wedding?
Adrian and I chose the county for the wedding for the atmosphere it provides. It’s ‘up and coming’ vibe was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to show our guests an area that many had never been to before while still having the amenities that we were looking for. Great hotels, amazing restaurants and cute little shops.
What advice would you give brides planning a wedding in Prince Edward County?
Any bride planning a wedding in PEC should plan ahead! It’s becoming a popular destination and they don’t want to miss out on the unique vendors that the county has.
We were totally in love with our hotel, Angeline’s Inn and would have liked to have our rehearsal supper there but didn’t get it booked in time!
Our florist was unbelievable, Coriander Girl. They have a shop in Toronto also and that’s where we knew them from. We were super excited to learn they had opened a shop in the county just in time for our wedding. The owner of the shop also has a super unique wedding chapel that lots of brides would love. Buffy, the baker who made our cake brought our vision to life!
And obviously you were amazing and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fit for our special day!
